Nėščiosios dievo motinos skulptūra Vilniaus pranciškonų bažnyčioje

LTStraipsnyje autorė analizuoja kulto ir paveikslo sąveiką, atsakydama į klausimus: ar stebuklingojo atvaizdo pobūdis veikia kulto savitumus, kaip kulto ypatumai transformuotu pavidalu perkeliami į paveikslą ir kaip jame pradedama įžvelgti bruožų, neakcentuotų arba net visai nesukonkretintų ikonografiniame prototipe? Tyrinėdama stebuklingąjį atvaizdą - Vilniaus Pranciškonų Dievo Motinos skulptūrą, nėščiųjų ir negimusių vaikų globėją, nedarnių šeimų taikytoją, ji ieško atsakymų į klausimą: ar vaizduojant šią Nekaltojo Prasidėjimo Mergelę Mariją buvo tikslingai parodytas jos nėštumas, ar jį pradėta pastebėti tik vėliau, išryškėjus specifiniams šios skulptūros kulto aspektams? Nėščios Dievo Motinos garbinimas niekada nebuvo paplitęs reiškinys, jis retas ir XVIII a. II pusės Vidurio Europoje. Atrodo, jog tuo metu nėštumas dažniausiai būdavo reiškiamas Nekaltojo Prasidėjimo tipo atvaizduose. Tokie pavyzdžiai ypač būdingi provincijai, liaudiškajai pamaldumo tradicijai ir liaudies religiniam menui. ENIn her article the author analyzes the interrelations between a cult and a painting and attempts to find the answers to the following questions: whether the character of a miraculous image influences the peculiarities of the cult, how the peculiarities of a cult, in a transformed shape, are conveyed into a painting and how the painting commences showing the traits, not emphasized or even completely not specified in the iconographic prototype. By examining a miraculous image, i. e. the sculpture of the Vilnius Franciscan Mother of God, the patron saint of pregnant women and unborn children and conciliator of families, the author searches for answers to the following question: whether when imaging the said Blessed Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception her pregnancy was shown on purpose, or whether it was commenced to be noticed only later, upon the specific aspects of the cult of the sculpture became prominent. The worshipping of the pregnant Mother of God has never been a widely spread phenomenon, it was also rare in the Western Europe of the 2nd half of the 18th century. It seems that at the time the pregnancy was most frequently expressed in the images of the type of the Immaculate Conception. Such examples are especially characteristic of the province, the folk godliness tradition and the folk religious art. The cult of the Mother of God of the Franciscan Church of Vilnius is in tune with the folk godliness tradition: the saint patrons the family in each specific situation. On the other hand the sculpture is a creation by a professional artist, created according to the norms of the church art of the artistic style, which was flourishing at the time. The folksiness of the image and the professionality of the form is a specific peculiarity of the image of the Mother of God of the Franciscan Church of Vilnius.
