LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjamas problemiškas Lietuvos spaudos paveldo registracijos klausimas. Aptariama knygos paminklo sąvoka, jos vartojimo erdvė, knygos paminklų ir šiandienos Lietuvos skaitmeninamo spaudos paveldo santykis, lyginama su situacija Estijoje ir Rusijoje. Prieinama prie išvados, jog Lietuvos spaudos paminklų sąvadas galėtų išryškinti prioritetinius spaudos paveldo objektus, pagelbėtų juos aktualinant, paskatintų aktyvesnę jų mokslinę refleksiją. ENThe needs of modern integrating world, the European initiatives of cultural heritage digitization commit us to open up our heritage objects to satisfy scientific, artistic and cultural demands of the world, thus strengthening the dissemination of our culture. In the context of the European integration openness to the globalizing world and the focus on the documentary heritage as a material manifestation of national identity are the major stimuli to explore in more detail printed and in particular book heritage. Some work has already been done in the field of registration of the Lithuanian printed cultural heritage, however, currently there is no printed catalogue or digital database which would represent in integrated manner all most valuable objects of the old Lithuanian book heritage according to the content, rarity, survival risk and other criteria. A similar registry, entitled „The Red book of Estonian publications" is available in Estonia. In Russia a detailed database of book heritage of the Russian Federation is being developed; similar work is being done in other countries.The concept of book heritage has multiple meanings. It covers not only particular objects of printed heritage separated from the general printed legacy but also entire historical collections that are indivisible. Integration of personal libraries into the registry of the book heritage is an issue that is worth discussion. Identification and registration of old objects of the Lithuanian book heritage that meet this status according to their cultural, research, artistic, and other kind of value - the requirements that are formulated by the Lithuanian law on the protection of movable cultural assets - would ensure management, preservation and appropriate use of book heritage for research, documentary communication, preservation for the future generations (digitization) and other cultural purposes not only in Lithuania but also internationally.
