Švenčianti Stanislovo Augusto valdymo laikų Lietuva
LTĮvairios šventės, pasilinksminimai, iškilmės ir minėjimai yra ir buvo neatsiejamas žmonių gyvenimo reiškinys. Yra privačių švenčių, konkretaus asmens, šeimos, kurios švenčiamos su savaisiais. Bet dauguma atvejų - tai viešieji renginiai. Net gimtadienis ar vardadienis, jei jo šventimas išeina už savųjų sambūrio ribų, nepriklausomai nuo asmens tampa viešuoju reiškiniu. Todėl mūsų tyrimo objektas - šventės - priklauso viešojo gyvenimo tyrinėjimų sferai. Straipsnis yra daugiau pasirengimas giliau tyrinėti kalbamą reiškinį, negu išsamiai jį nušviesti. Bandyta suklasifikuoti informaciją apie šventes, atsižvelgdamas į švenčių progas, paskirtį, vietą, dalyvių sudėtį. Tikimasi, kad net pradiniu tyrimų etapu galima pastebėti sąsajas su visuomeniniu-valstybiniu gyvenimu bei švenčių pobūdžio kaitą. Tyrinėjant švenčiančią XVIII a. Lietuvą, dar laukia daug darbo. Straipsnyje pateikti tik pradinio pasižvalgymo po temą rezultatai, beveik nerašyta, kaip buvo švenčiama, kaip buvo puošiamos švenčių vietos ir taip toliau. Be abejo, būtina plėsti šaltinių bazę, tada atsiras naujų potemių. Jau dabar aišku, kad, pvz., Vilniaus miesto išlaidų knygos galės pasakyti, kiek tokios šventės kainavo. ENDifferent celebrations, festivities, solemnizations and commemorations were and still are an integral phenomenon of people’s life. There are private holidays, pertaining to a specific person or family, which are celebrated in the company of the own people. However in most cases holidays are public events. Even a birthday or a name-day, in case its celebration is outside the limits of the get-together of the own people, independently of the status of the person, becomes a public event. Therefore the subject of the study, i. e. holidays, belongs to the area of studies of public life. The article is more of a preparation for a deeper study of the phenomenon than just its comprehensive description. Attempts were made to classify the information on holidays, taking into consideration the occasions, purpose, location and composition of participants. It is expected that even in the initial phase of studies one can note the relations with the social and state life and the development of the character of holidays. When examining the celebrating Lithuania of the 18th century, a lot is yet to be done. The article provides only the results of the initial analysis of the subject, it provides almost no information on the ways of celebrating, decorating the locations of celebrations, etc.. Without any doubt, it is necessary to extend the base of sources since it will result in emergence of new subjects. It is already clear that, for instance, the expense books of Vilnius city can tell of the price of such festivities. A significant amount of knowledge of different holidays could be provided by diaries of the period and especially letters.
