Liberalus nacionalizmas tradicinėse demokratijose ir postsovietinėje erdvėje

LTPublikacijoje yra apžvelgiama Wayne Norman knyga "Negotiation Nationalism: Nation-Building, Federalism, and Succeession in the Multinational State". Recenzijoje siekiama atskleisti autoriaus požiūrį derinant liberalizmą ir nacionalizmą, jo išsamią nacionalizmo kaip socialinio, kultūrinio, politinio ir antropologinio fenomeno analizę. Publikacijoje nacionalizmas aptariamas kaip tam tikra diskurso forma, argumentų konstravimo būdas ir priemonė, kuri padeda mobilizuoti socialines grupes. Svarbiausi recenzijos aspektai: pirma, W. Norman pateikiamų institucinių ir konstitucinių atsvarų nacionalizmui vertinimas; antra, W. Norman darbo aktualumas tiriant postsovietinę erdvę, taip pat analizuojant ir vertinant situacijas tų valstybių, kuriose Lietuva deklaruoja turinti strateginių interesų - Baltarusijoje, Rusijoje, Ukrainoje. Publikaciją sudaro trys svarbiausios dalys, kuriose analizuojami tautos apsisprendimo ir kūrimo aspektai daugiatautėse valstybėse, liberalaus nacionalizmo tyrimų taikymas postsovietinėje erdvėje ir liberalaus nacionalizmo idėjų institucionalizavimo galimybės Rytų Europoje.

ENThe publication overviews Wayne Norman’s book "Negotiation Nationalism: Nation-Building, Federalism, and Succession in the Multinational State". The review makes attempts to reveal the author’s view on matching liberalism with nationalism and his comprehensive analysis of nationalism as a social, cultural, political and anthropological phenomenon. Nationalism in the publication is discussed as a certain form of discourse, way of structuring of arguments and the tool for mobilizing certain social groups. The most important aspects of the review are the following: first, the evaluation of the institutional and constitutional counterbalance to nationalism, presented by W. Norman; second, the relevance of W. Norman’s study when examining the post-Soviet space and analyzing and evaluation of the situation of the states, in which Lithuania has its strategic interests, i. e. Russia, Byelorussia and the Ukraine. The publication includes three main parts, analyzing the aspects of determination and creation of a nation in multinational states, application of studies of liberal nationalism in the post-Soviet space and the possibilities of institutionalization of the ideas of liberal nationalism in the Eastern Europe.
