Summary / Abstract:

LTTradicinės muzikos dermių ir darnų suvokimas neretai gali būti tendencingas, ypač jeigu "išorinio" suvokėjo ir "vidinio" atlikėjo (angl. outsider ir insider) intervalinio mąstymo sistemos ryškiau skiriasi. To pasekmė - neadekvati muzikinės darnos transkripcija.

ENUnderstanding of the tunes of harmonies of the traditional music can quite frequently be tendentious, especially when the systems of the interval thinking of the outsides and insider are more different, which results in an inadequate transcription of musical tunes and harmonies. The article illustrates the problem by a study of tunes and harmonies of skudučiai and Lithuanian traditional solo singing. When reconstructing the original tunes and harmonies the acoustic measurements of examples of audio records of the said genres of traditional music are referred to. When comparing the results of the measurements with the usual European ethnomusicological transcriptions, certain essential differences emerge in the staff: important is not the fact that the reconstructed tunes and harmonies, registered in the transcriptions are different with the microphones – more important is the fact that the classifications of height in the tunes and harmonies are entirely different. For instance, there have been a lot of cases where the song is constructed not of tones and semitones (the contrast between two constructional intervals; the usual transcription), but rather of approximately equal “interim” intervals (one constructional interval; reconstruction according to impartial measurements). The article discusses the problem of tune and harmony "per se" and the tune of harmony of performance and application of the Hornbostell paradigm and its alternatives when improving the transcription of tune and harmony in order for it to become adequate. The so-called “unfolding” tunes and harmonies are examined separately.
