Vilnius XVI-XVIII amžiaus lotyniškojoje Lietuvos literatūroje
LTBandysime pažvelgti į Vilnių, remdamiesi XVI-XVIII a. grožinės literatūros kūriniais: panegirikomis, epigramomis, poemomis, enkomijais, elogijais ir t. t. Šiuose kūriniuose atrodo reikšmingi ne tiek objektyvūs faktai, konkretūs įvykiai (nors remiamasi ir jais), kiek subjektyvus autoriaus požiūris, vertinimas, istorinių įvykių interpretacija. Vilnius čia atsispindi tarsi iš vidaus, per rašančiojo emocijas ir intelektą. Šie tekstai papildo „objektyvius“ istorinius šaltinius, liudija asmenišką, subjektyvų Vilniaus gyventojų santykį su miestu, kuriame jie gyvena. Daugiausia grožinių kūrinių apie Vilnių XVI-XVIII a. yra parašę senojo Vilniaus universiteto studentai bei profesoriai. Šiuose tekstuose atsispindi rašiusiųjų išsilavinimas, intelektas, matoma literatūrinė tradicija, einanti nuo antikos. Miestas suvokiamas kaip locus artificialis, t. y. kaip tam tikra fiziškai apibrėžta civilizuota erdvė, skirta miesto bendruomenei sėkmingai funkcionuoti, su atitinkamais pastatais, įrenginiais, valdymo ir kultūros institucijomis. ENSeveral theme groups are distinguished in the Latin literature of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania about Vilnius on which scholars focus their attention. Vilnius is distinguished as the capital city, as a scientific, cultural, political and trading centre, as a witness to the historic past of Lithuania. It is represented as the place of the activity of the rulers, noblemen, state figures and dignitaries of the Church, as the arena of the implementation of different theatrical and para-theatrical events, as a reflection of the Lithuanian realia and its urgent problems. Occasional literary works supplement historical sources about Vilnius, reveal the relationship of the people who lived in it with the urbanised space that surrounded them, which they, in their turn, modelled, created and interpreted. Occasional texts show in what forms and ways symbols, images and plots testifying to the statehood of Lithuania spread and were consolidated, how history and mythology, the past and the present were woven into an integral historic action. The sources testify that till the end of the 18th century history, as an academic subject, did not exist. Therefore, the importance of the literary texts, in which the Lithuanian past is given a new implication and meaning, and which develop historic understanding of readers, stimulate the national and state patriotism, becomes even more significant.
