Summary / Abstract:

ENEmployees feeling job satisfaction usually demonstrate a positive point of view towards their job, they complete their tasks more effectively and with more quality; therefore, without having a detailed research results of employee job satisfaction and qualification and development in tourism organizations, there is no possibility to come up with certain conclusions and foresee certain actions for tourism organizations to develop employee qualification and development activities in order to strengthen employee job satisfaction. The paper presents the research report on connections between employee job satisfaction and employee qualification and development in tourism in several geographical regions in Lithuania. The research data indicates training methods and means that are used in hotels on the basis of employees with their working experience under 10 years and over 10 years. The meaning of qualification improvement and training according to working experience were not significantly important to all groups of the research sample. However, qualification and training processes are very important for all groups of the research sample. The hotel employees with the shortest working experience are satisfied with the opportunity to use their knowledge and with their workload and salary. The hotel employees with the longest working experience are interested in their job and believe in its importance and meaning.
