ENThe article deals with the analytical review of the researches by Belorussian, Lithuanian, Polish historians on the question of the studying the Belorussian diaspora in Lithuania. The author marks three chronological periods in the studying of the problem. The first period is characterized by accumulating information and proving the existence of the Belorussian in Lithuania as a specific ethnic group. Chronologically the second period coincides with the tome of the Soviet Union when the political system and its demands influenced on the historical science greatly. The third period began in the mid-1980s when the changes in the policy took place. The development of historical science in the independent countries gave the opportunity to analyze the question of the Belorussian expatriate community more properly. By studying the Belorussian expatriate community in Lithuania, social and economic, political and cultural, confessional aspects as well as the questions of language and cultural interaction of the Belorussian and the Lithuanian ethnic groups were analyzed.
