ENIt is reviewed the search in early XX century by Belarusian, Lithuanian and Polish political thought of the forms of national-state structure of the peoples of former Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL) on the basis of its statepolitical tradition. It is established the circumstances of appeal to historical tradition. Article describes the role and place GDL tradition in «krajovaya» ideology, in ideology of Lithuanian autonomists, Polish federalists, Belarusian national movement. It is shown how the divergence of nation interests lead to adapt GDL heritage to them and to the competition because of this heritage. Scientific novelty lies in methodological approach, based on modern concepts (sociocultural trauma; political nation; creation of nations in Eastern Europe, discussed on the phenomenon of Rzeczpospolita and GDL heritage); in comparative analysis of use of GDL heritage by Belarusian, Lithuanian and Polish national movements and show the specificity of ideology of Belarusian movement; attract new archival sources.
