ENThe aim of this article is to describe the image of the German woman in contemporary Lithuanian language texts. Combining a structural and cognitive approach, 939 fiction, non-fiction and journalistic texts were analysed. It was found that the long-standing patriarchal tradition of stereotyping women, i.e. assigning them only traditional roles in the family and society, has changed. German women are portrayed in contemporary Lithuanian texts as strong individuals who know what they want and strive for it, as role models for other women. Their role in shaping contemporary society is evident. Keywords: German woman, corpus, fiction and non-fiction, journalism.
