ENThe Law of Education, which establiches the conceptual, organizational, and legal basis of Lithuanian education, asserts the four main principles of Lithuania's national education system: equal opportunities, contextuality, effectiveness, and continuity (Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania/SRL, 1991). The current vision for the development of education in the country focuses on the universal needs of society in the modern world, and the needs of an individual living under market economy conditions in an open civil society (Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania/PRL, 2003).
