ENThe article is a brief presentation of main career stages of Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrošius – from his study in the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, through the most important performances in Vilnius, which reflect author’s characteristic of his theatre work, to Forefathers’ Eve staging in the National Theatre Warsaw in 2016. The core part of the paper is devoted to the presentation of so called “theatre of sensual metaphors” typical of Nekrošius and based on: author’s reading of classical dramas, visualizing and materializing metaphors taken from the text and using actor’s motoric body.
