ENThe paper analyses the problem, which is relevant, both theoretically and practically, since it tries to disclose legal peculiarities of individual enterprises’ activity reglamentation. Until now, operation of individual enterprises established in Lithuania has been regulated by various separate laws, which cause much inconvenience. As a result, the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Individual Enterprises entered into force on January 1st, 2004. In contrast, the Mainland China promulgated one independent law specifically designed to address the issues related to the individual enterprises in 1999, a little earlier than the pass of the corresponding law in Lithuania. It is meaningful to have a brief compassion between the laws of the two countries in this respect. This article aims to present the outstanding peculiarities of the individual enterprise as a legal entity, which could be considered as certain advantages and disadvantages in the two countries. The article considers the activity of individual enterprise before and after the entry into force of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Individual Enterprises.
