LTPo 2004 m. archeologinių tyrinėjimų sezono VU MF ištirta apie 363 asmenų palaikai iš griautinių ir 40 asmenų palaikų iš degintinių palaidojimų, iš viso iš 21 paminklo ar radimo vietos. Medžiaga išvalyta, konservuota, identifikuota ir dokumentuota, visų analizių rezultatai perduoti paminklus tyrusiems archeologams. Mokslinės informacijos požiūriu vertinga medžiaga saugoma katedros saugyklose ir prieinama tolesniems detalesniems tyrimams [p. 344].
ENThe season of archaeological excavations of the year 2004 provided Department of Anatomy, Histology and Anthropology, Vilnius University, with skeletal remains from 363 inhumations and 40 cremations, from 21 archaeological site. Materials were cleaned, identified and documented; detailed results were provided for archaeologists. Materials of scientific value are stored at the Department and are available for future examinations. This paper presents a summary of primary reports. Materials from the year 2004 provided new data not only for anthropology. Results of age and sex structure analysis of cremations should be noted; not infrequently, bones of various animals are found; finally, anatomical order of bone fragments disposal in Naudvaris burial ground are worth to mention. Pathologies found in inhumations (cases of rickets, anaemia and tuberculosis among children, various traumas and pathologies of joints among adults), demographieal structure of some burial grounds (this year, Alytus cemetery should be noted) is additional information source concerning the mode of life of past communities. Finally, finds in Dubingiai castle site, being identified as remains of Radvila family, are briefly discussed.
