ENIn 2004 in the old town of Vilnius at the site at the Bokšto Str. 17 an archaeological survey was performed. The survey covered the area of the planned earthworks and aimed to establish thickness, composition and dating of the cultural layer. Three test pits covering the total area of 12 m2 were investigated. Fragments of the cultural layer, separate potshards and a copper shilling coined by King John Casimir were found. On the basis of the potshards and numismatic materials the cultural layer was dated to the second half of the 17th - the second half of the 20th century. At the Bokšto Str. 21A another survey of the area of the planned earthworks was performed. It aimed to establish thickness, composition and dating of the cultural layer. Three test pits covering the total area of 12 m2 were investigated. In the test pits No. 1 and 2 (the southern part of the plot) no valuable cultural layer was found; piled layers dominated.
