Baltadvario pilkapynas

LT2003 ir 2004 m., vadovaujantis KVAD ardomų archeologinių vietų ištyrimo programomis. tyrinėtas Baltadvario pilkapyno (A 894P, Molėtu r.) pilkapis 8. kurio P pusę ardė nuolat atnaujinama miško kvartalinė-priešgaisrinė linija. Prieš pradedant pilkapio tyrimus nukirsti ant jo gausiai augę medžiai ir krūmai, panaudojant diferencinį GPS ir lazerinį tacheometrą atlikti tikslūs pilkapio, jo elementų ir aplinkos matavimai. Pilkapis buvo apie 25 m skersmens ir 1,5 m aukščio. Jo vietoje ištirtas 588 m2 plotas. Tiriant paaiškėjo, jog šio didžiulio pilkapio konstrukcija buvo sudėtinga [p. 71].

ENIn 2003 and 2004 in the Baltadvaris barrow cemetery (Molėtai district) the barrow No. 8 was investigated. It was 1.5 m high and had 25 m in diameter. The earth was mounded in two steps: during the first step a small mound was piled over the burials and two deep pits were made in it, later the mound was surrounded with a circle of large stones and pavements were formed, and finally a ditch was excavated on the external side of the stone circle and a large barrow was mounded. Within the barrow beneath the ground level in the pits two inhumation burials were found. The barrow is datable to the mid first millennium A. D. It was mounded at the former Stone Age settlement site.
