Žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Turlojiškėse

LT2005 m. lapkričio mėnesį apie 150 x 250 m lauko plote, kurį riboja Musės upė (iš Š ir ŠV), kelias Vilnius–Širvintos (iš ŠR), pilkapyno miškas (iš PR) ir magistralinio dujotiekio trasa (iš P), buvo pastebėta keramikos trupinių, rastas siauraašmenis kirvis numušta pentimi. Planuojant žvalgomuosius tyrimus manyta, jog lauke gali būti sunaikintų pilkapių liekanų arba XIV a. pabaigos – XV a. kapų [p. 488].

ENIn 2006 a field evaluation (7 test pits with a total area of 10 m2) was conducted at the Turlojiškės find spot (Širvintos Dist.). Found: hand built pottery sherds with smooth and rough surfaces from a 2nd–3rd century settlement (dated on the basis of a Antoninus Pius bronze dupondius minted in 153–154; in a private collection); a narrow-bladed axe and ornament fragment from destroyed barrows from the 2nd half of the 1st millennium; a 15th century earring, which together with the late 14th–15th century cast ring brooch previously found here (in a private collection) could have come from destroyed burials from this period. The 17th–19th century thrown pottery, a roof tile fragment, nails, and coins (in private collections) should be connected with a homestead (?) located here in the 17th–18th century.
