Tyrinėjimai Subačiaus g. 11

LT2006 m. LII MTS vykdė archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniaus senojo miesto vietoje, Subačiaus g. 11. Tyrinėjimai vykdyti būsimo piligrimų viešbučio statybos vietoje. Anksčiau čia vykdytų archeologinių tyrinėjimų metu aptikti XIX a. pastatų pamatai, XIV–XV a. puodžiaus dirbtuvių ūkinė duobė su gausiais tam laikotarpiui būdingais buitinės bei statybinės keramikos fragmentais (žr. LIIR, f. 1, b. 1441; ATL 1994 ir 1995 metais, V., 1996, p. 247–249; ATL 1996 ir 1997 metais, V., 1998, p. 403; ATL 2005 metais, V., 2006, p. 362) [p. 368].

ENIn 2006 an excavation was conducted at Subačiaus St. 11 in Vilnius Old Town. An area of about 140 m2 was excavated. Two oven hearths, artisans’ (a jeweller’s, a bone craftsman’s, and a potters’) storage pits with production waste, three (19th, 17th and 16th century) pavement levels, and the stone foundations of two wooden buildings were found. A cultural layer of up to 3 m that dates to the late 14th – 19th century was recorded. In all over 7000 finds were discovered during the excavation: household and construction pottery sherds, stove tile sherds, metal and glass artefacts, fragments of leather footwear, and coins.
