Apvalioji (Dvaro) kalva Platelių ežero pusiasalyje

LT2006 m. BRIAI Apvaliojoje (Dvaro) kalvoje ištyrė 90 m2 plotą (perkasa 1). Prieš tyrimus 2006 m. balandžio mėnesį kalva buvo išžvalgyta magnetometru. Šiuos darbus kartu su KU atliko Martinas Posseltas (firma Posselt & Zickgraf GbR, Vokietija). Kai kuriose kalvos vietose buvo aptikta anomalijų, o jos aikštelės Š dalyje fiksuotos anomalijos sudarė maždaug 10 x 30 m dydžio stačiakampį. Ši vieta ir buvo pasirinkta kasinėjimams [p. 266].

ENRound (Manor) Hill is on a peninsula on the S shore of lake Plateliai (Plungė Dist.) opposite Castle Island. According to a 1585 inventory of Plateliai manor and 1986 excavations on the N edge, the first Plateliai church stood here. In 2006 BRIAI excavated a 90 m2 area on it. A magnetometer survey (by Martin Posselt M.A. of Posselt & Zickgraf Prospektionen GbR (Germany)) conducted in April 2006 helped to select the excavation site. A 4 m wide strip of stones running in a W–E direction and 6 grave pits with 2 burials surviving in them were discovered in the trench. The 16th–17th century coins found in one of them confirm the premise that the site of the old Plateliai church has been found.
