Republikanizm szlachecki Rzeczypospolitej Obojga Narodów: próba charakterystyki
ENThe paper is an outline of the key components of the republican ideology of the noble class in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It attempts to present the vision of the state, concepts of liberty and perception of the mutual obligations between individuals and their communities, which dominated the political discourse of the noble class from late 16th century to the 18th century. An examination of this ideology and its components over that period of time provides insight into its evolution and the durability of certain concepts. The broader European context framing the analysis highlights the differences and similarities between early modern republicanism in Europe and the patrician republicanism of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
