2006-2007 m. tyrinėjimai Bokšto g. 6, Vilniuje

LT2006–2007m. LII MTS vykdė archeologinius tyrinėjimus Vilniaus senamiestyje, sklype Bokšto g. 6. 2005 m. šiame sklype atlikti žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimai (LIIR, f. 1, b. 4535). Žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu ištirti 7 šurfai, iš viso 67 m2. Sklypo V kampe aptiktas 1,8–2,6 m storio XIV a. pabaigos – XX a. kultūrinis sluoksnis. Kiemo centrinėje ir P dalyse rasti XVI–XVII a. medinio užstatymo fragmentai, akmeninių bei medinių grindų fragmentai. Sklypo Š kieme aptiktas 2–2,75 m storio kultūrinis sluoksnis su XVIII a. pabaigos – XIX a. mūriniu užstatymu. Sklypo R kieme XIV–XX a. kultūrinio sluoksnio storis siekia nuo 1,8 m (V dalyje) iki 7,2 m (R dalyje). Tyrimų metu aptikta buitinės ir statybinės keramikos fragmentų, monetų, švininių tekstilės plombų, įvairių metalinių dirbinių. R kiemo V dalyje aptikti 5 palaidojimai. Žmonių kaulų iš suardytų kapų aptikta ir R, ir Š kiemuose. Nustatyta, kad sklype Bokšto g. 6 buvusios kapinės [p. 149].

ENDuring 2006–2007 the LII MTS conducted an excavation (a total area of 1539 m2) at the site of four buildings at Bokšto St. 6 in Vilnius Old Town. A cultural layer up to 7.7 m thick and dating to the mid-(early?) 14th–20th century was discovered during the investigation. 7775 finds were discovered: fragments of structural ceramics and household pottery, coins, seals, household, work, and military iron tools, and fragments of glass, bone, and leather artefacts. A fragment of a stone axe and an openwork threepointed pendant should be mentioned among the rarer artefacts. Fragments of artefacts connected with metal and bone processing were also discovered. An Orthodox cemetery (Fig. 2), which in all probability could have belonged to the Orthodox Church of the Nativity and dates to the first half (?) – middle of the 14th century, was discovered. 60 graves, oriented in a Christian direction, i.e. E – W, were also discovered and excavated. Several graves had poor grave goods from that time. In the mid-14th century, five Orthodox churches stood in the vicinity of present-day Bokšto Street: the Churches of the Virgin Mother of God, of St Nicholas (of Uspenia), of St Paraskeva (Pyatnitca), of St Ilija the Prophet, and of the Nativity. Of them only the Orthodox Church of the Nativity has not been precisely located but, on the basis of the latest archaeological excavation data, it could have stood at the site of present-day building 4, closer to present-day I ganytojo Street.
