ENTheatre was born out of ceremonies, that are based on rituals. Rituals provide opportunity for community soul to meet values and moral codes. History of dance is connected to rituals. Ballet transformed to contemporary dance. Contemporary dance became more abstract, concentrated on movement itself Butoh, on the other hand, strives to conceptualize movements. A scientific problem: to what extent Butoh can be used in education of contemporary dance dancers and especially, artists, is addressed in this paper. The aim is to identify history of Butoh as well as its capacity to Express problems and concepts that a contemporary person thinks of often. A critical references analysis together with reflection on personal experience were employed for development if this paper. The conclusions are presented that in education of contemporary dancers, and especially, artists, Butoh can be used, because it provided opportunities to contemplate of oneself, on nature, and our place in it; the slowness of Butoh is antithesis to fast pace of our life, and being slow, we have an opportunity to still wonder at the beauty of nature, work, and everyday living.
