Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės kariuomenė ketverių metų seimo laikotarpiu 1788-1792 m. : disertacija

LTDarbo tikslas – ištirti Lietuvos kariuomenės potencialo kitimą Ketverių metų seimo reformų metu, uždavinius, kuriuos valstybė kėlė kariuomenei bei jėgas, kurios skatino arba stabdė pokyčius. Šiam tikslui pasiekti darbe iškelti tokie uždaviniai: • išsiaiškinti, kokie uždaviniai buvo keliami reformuojamai LDK kariuomenei; • nustatyti, kiek ir kaip padidėjo Lietuvos kariuomenė; • ištirti ir įvertinti kariuomenės kadrų politiką ir kokybines karių charakteristikas; • išsiaiškinti kariuomenės aprūpinimo lygį ir turimos bazės galimybes; • ištirti ir įvertinti valstybės ir kariuomenės pastangas parengiant turimas pajėgas kariniams veiksmams. Darbas atskleidžia Lietuvos kariuomenės reformas, kurios turėjo įtaką valstybės vidaus ir užsienio politikai, ekonomikai ir socialinių santykių vystymuisi, užpildo spragą XVIII a. pabaigos LDK Abiejų Tautų Respublikos istorijoje. Disertacijoje pateikiama naujųjų laikų kariuomenės istorijos tyrinėjimo schema, kuria gali pasinaudoti kitų laikotarpių tyrėjai. Nemaža dalis analizei panaudotų šaltinių pirmą kartą įvedami į mokslinę apyvartą. [Iš leidinio]

ENThe objective of the work is to investigate a change in the potential of the Lithuanian army during the time of reforms of the Four-year Seimas, the goals, which the state set to the army and the forces, which encouraged or hindered the changes. To achieve this objective the following goals were set in the work: • to elucidate what goals were set to the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania being reformed; • to determine to what extent and in what manner the Lithuanian army increased; • to investigate and to evaluate the policy of the army cadre and quantitative characteristics of solders; • to elucidate the level the provision of the army and the possibilities of the facilities available; • to investigate and to evaluate efforts of the state and the army in preparing the available forces for military actions. The work reveals reforms of the Lithuanian army, which had an effect on the home and foreign policy of the state, its economy and the development of social relations, fills in the gap in the history of the Republic of the Two Nations at the end of the 18th century. The thesis presents the scheme of investigation into the history of the army of modern times, which can be of used by the investigators of other periods. A large part of the sources used for the analysis has been introduced into scientific research for the first time.
