Gyvenvietė Palangoje, Žemynos gatvėje 7

LT2013 m. tyrimai buvo atlikti kasant 5 plotus iki įžemio sklypo P dalyje, kurioje ankstesnių žvalgomųjų tyrimų metu buvo aptiktas vertingas kultūrinis sluoksnis. Projektuojamo pastato vietoje tirtas 63 m2 dydžio plotas 1 (9x7 m dydžio). Linijinės konfigūracijos plotai 2–5 tirti inžinerinių komunikacijų vietose: plotas 2-15,5x2 m dydžio (31 m2), 3-20x2 m dydžio (40 m2), 4-20x2 m dydžio (40 m2), 5-14,5x2 m dydžio (29 m2). Iš viso Žemynos g. 7 sklype 2013 m. ištirtas 203 m2 bendras plotas, į kurį pateko ir 2 ištirti žvalgomųjų tyrimų šurfai. Detaliųjų tyrimų metu žemės paviršiuje fiksuotas 20–25 cm storio juosvo dirvožemio su pušų šaknimis sluoksnis. Po juo buvo nuo 30 cm iki 85 cm storio smulkaus eolinio balkšvo atspalvio smėlio sluoksnis-pajūrio smėlio pustymų Palangoje reliktas. Maždaug 0,6–1,4 m gylyje nuo dabartinio žemės paviršiaus aptiktas 20–50 cm storio neintensyvus periferinis kultūrinis sluoksnis, kuriame rasti 37 radiniai: 18 smulkių žiestos ir lipdytos keramikos lygiu paviršiumi fragmentų, 16 molio tinko gabaliukų, 3 gintaro dirbinių ruošiniai (?). Šie radiniai datuojami I tūkst.-II tūkst. pradžia ir XVI–XVIII a. [...] [p. 53].

ENIn 2013, an excavation (five areas, a total of 203 m2) was conducted on the plot at Žemynos st. 7, Palanga. Two cultural layer horizons were distinguished. Horizon 1 is grey sand unearthed at an average depth of 85−90 cm and bearing signs of a cultural layer. A seam of whitish Aeolian sand recorded below horizon 1 covers blackish soil, which is former topsoil that was identified as horizon 2. Small fragments of 16th-18th centuries hand thrown pottery were discovered in horizon 1 while the 20–50 cm thick peripheral cultural layer of horizon 2 contained sparse finds including small fragments of hand thrown and hand built pottery, pieces of clay daub, amber, and iron smelting waste. Seven irregular oval pits with rounded bottoms that were from 20x25 cm to 5.98x1.33 m in diameter and had been dug to a depth of 10−85 cm from the surface of horizon 2 were recorded. In area 3, a pit dug into sterile soil should be connected the metallurgy industry, i.e. iron ore extraction. Pieces of roasted iron ore were found in the vicinity of this pit. An iron ore extraction pit had also been dug from horizon 2 and hit a vein of iron-rich sand concretions. In area 5, the shore of a relict body of water was recorded and fragments of badly eroded clay daub and burnt granite stones were discovered in its vicinity. Horizon 1 formed on the periphery of the town of Palanga, horizon 2 on the periphery of the iron age Palanga’s S settlement.
