ENIn 2017, the LNM and BRIAI surveyed 20 prehistoric and historic sites that have cultural heritage indicators in Kelmė, Molėtai, Radviliškis, and Raseiniai districts. New flat cemeteries were discovered in Skogalis, Vaiguva (both in Kelmė district), and Vilkiškiai (Raseiniai district) and finds were encountered outside the boundaries of the protected territories of the hillforts in Pabariukai (Eimančiai) (Kelmė district) and Pažobris (Raseiniai district) and a cemetery in Vėžlaukis (Raseiniai district). The new barrow mounds and stone circles discovered in Akmenė (Sandrausiškė) (Raseiniai district) and the finds in Liepiškiai (Radviliškis district) and Ugioniai (Raseiniai district) must be connected with burial sites mentioned in literature but already destroyed for some time.An unknown barrow site was identified in Kašelinė (Molėtai district) when a 10th century cremation was discovered during the survey. The grave goods in it consisted of an assemblage of 15 artefacts, some of which had been in a fire: a broadaxe, 2 narrow bladed, single edged axes, 4 socketed spearheads with the sockets decorated with an arched design, a socketed spearhead with a narrow leaf shaped blade, 3 knives with a push tang, a handle scale or sheath fitting, part of a twisted wire neck-ring shank, and 2 penannular brooches with facetted terminals. Iron Age artefact find spots were recorded in Daukšiai (Radviliškis district), Palapišiai forest, Riogliškiai, and Šiauleliai (all in Raseiniai district) and an early modern period one in Aukštiškiai (Radviliškis district). The new artefacts from the Anulynas barrow site and cemetery, the Fliorencija Manor site, Kušeliškė cemetery, and the Tautušiai Barrow site (all in Raseiniai District) supplemented the results of earlier surveys. In addition, some of the finds attest to the presence of Poškaičiai cemetery (Raseiniai district), which has been damaged by treasure hunters.
