Legal issues of the ensuring of consumer rights in the insurance legal relations

ENRelevance of the topic. Ensuring consumer protection is one of the European Union's key objectives. It is based on the idea that the internal market can only function properly if the national rules of the Member States are harmonized, thus increasing consumer confidence, and providing greater legal certainty. Today, it can be said that the consumerism movement has developed rapidly and effectively, and consumer protection has remained relevant. Work problem. Consumers often complain about their violated rights in relation to insurance legal relationships. Work objective. To reveal the importance of consumer rights and ensuring these rights in insurance legal relations. Paper methods. The historical method is used to reveal the formation of consumer protection in the European Union and Lithuania. Applying the document analysis method, the case law of Lithuanian courts related to ensuring consumer rights in insurance legal relations is analyzed. The comparative method is used to compare scientific works and normative legal acts related to consumer rights and insurance legal relations. The aggregation method is used to summarize the theoretical part and the case law to assess whether the legal norms are effectively implemented in ensuring consumer rights. [From the publication]
