ENThis study investigates the perceptions that Lithuanian animation, live-action and documentary filmmakers have towards post-secondary education, specifically whether top-tier Lithuanian filmmakers consider higher education as a distinctive and superior format or just one of the many ways to acquire professional skills and knowledge necessary for their creative career. The researchers employed a quantitate research approach and analyzed data from filmmakers’ CVs that where submitted to the Lithuanian Film Centre. Study revealed that today alarming number of Lithuanian filmmakers working in industry’s top positions does not seek post-secondary education. With the information obtained from our study, authors suggest that post-secondary education in art in Lithuania would adjust their communication strategy towards students and the industry to convey the relevance of this type of education.
