Summary / Abstract:

ENHuman comfort is one of the main design parameters of sustainable buildings today. However, in some cases, human comfort conditions are not in line with building sustainability practices. The purpose of this chapter is to examine the main parameters that determine human comfort in space and to examine the human comfort conditions in educational building. The study deals with three experimental methods of analysis, namely, field measurements, numerical analysis, and questionnaire research. The main focus of the study is the Kaunas Technical College building, which is a traditional building of the early 20th century. In this building, field measurements and computational simulations were performed. The results showed that in some tested rooms thermal comfort parameters did not meet the requirements.
