Summary / Abstract:
ENThe article examines the famous afterword of the Bible of Matthew the Tenth, in which the bookmaker gave unique information about his life, as well as about the circumstances of the creation of the manuscript. The author describes its structure and content, determines the genre of this work and also tries to establish the motives that prompted the compiler of the manuscript to place this text in the final part of the book. The work done makes it possible to consider the afterword within the context of the development of Russian literacy at the turn of the XV-XVI centuries.
