ENPilviškiai is a rather large pre-war Užnemunė church district, where active economic and cultural life took place. In its time, it was famous all over the country for the railway station, the big fairs, and in the public information space for unusual romantic stories. The aim of the article is to single out the unique features of the marriages that took place in the Pilviškiai Parish church and to discover exceptional love stories. The main objects of research are the Book of Marriage Metrics of Pilviškiai Catholic Parish and the periodicals published in the period of the First Independent Lithuania. The Church Book was recorded inconsistently, i.e., in the periods of 1923-1927 and 1929-1937. In 1932 the acts of the blessed marriages were found in the Book of Marriage Metrics of Plokščiai Parish. Nevertheless, as many as 673 couples married during the mentioned periods, and their marriage records reveal only the marital tendencies characteristic of the spouses of Pilviškiai Parish. Meanwhile, today, the press of the time is probably the only witness that allows us to look at what family dramas or love stories the parishioners experienced.
