ENAccording to German researchers, the paper deals with the problem of cooperation between a school community and a school social worker (social pedagogue) in improving the process of child socialisation at general education schools. Intercultural research of school social pedagogues’ activities at Lithuanian and German schools and the related qualitative analysis indicates that the main aspect of interaction between a school social worker and the school community in their cooperation is a premise for improving socialisation conditions for a child at school. The paper presents the results of the qualitative research organised in Kaunas (Lithuania) and Koblenz (Germany). The data analysis shows that (inter)personal, organisational, structural and socio-political factors determine the possibilities for cooperation between a social worker and the school community.
