Summary / Abstract:
ENRenowned photographer and artist Rimantas Dichavičius (born in 1937) dedicated over a decade of his life to documenting the visual culture of Lithuania following the reinstatement of sovereignty in 1990. In his own words, "Freedom is not just a cheer T am free!' Freedom is something that not only should be heard but also must be visualized." The three monumental volumes by Dichavičius are unique in that they represent a comprehensive visual archive of the exploding artistic production after restoration of independence.
