ENThe emergence of a COVID 19 pandemic situation has impacted communities across the globe. On one hand, there are numerous behavioural conflicts and misunderstandings between police and individuals, and the society more generally in a COVID 19 pandemic situation. This is also reflected in the media. On the other hand, sometimes use of coercive measures has no alternatives for the purpose of ensuring public order and public security in the state. The police are the institution that most often communicates with members of the public in a COVID 19 pandemic situation. In their relations with the public, police officers not only use means of persuasion, but also coercive measures, which have legal, psychological consequences for the population. It is very important for the public to know what decisions and actions of police officers will be, whether they will protect their rights and freedoms, or whether coercive measures will be applied in accordance with and in compliance with the law. During a COVID-19 pandemic situation, there is some ambiguity as to the authorities of the police officers and how they are compatible with individual rights of members of the society, as both sides are not used to this type of situations. Sometimes, the right of police officers to use coercive measures collides with the rights and freedoms of individuals. The aim of presentation to analyse the role of police in a COVID-19 pandemic situation, disclose the priority between using coercive measures and human rights in a COVID-19 pandemic situation.
