Myśl konstytucyjna Stanisława Cata-Mackiewicza
ENThe text is an attempt to look at the views of Stanisław Cat Mackiewicz on the issues connected with the state system and the best constitution for the Polish state in the years 1918-1939. Thus, his views on both constitutions from that period, i.e. the March Constitution of 1921 and the April Constitution of 1935, are presented. The author also describes the attempts at legislative proposals made by the Vilnius conservative in the form of the Statute of Central Lithuania, published in Vilnius in 1922. Mackiewicz's main idea was to provide the Republic with a strong, albeit decentralised, power. This text is an attempt to answer the question as to which of the pre-war basic laws was for him the more appropriate solution for Poland and most fully reflected his views on the organisation of the state.
