Netikėti atradimai Maironio lietuvių literatūros muziejaus Bernardo Brazdžionio rinkinyje

LTAtrodo, tiek daug žinojome apie Brazdžionį, tačiau tyrinėjant archyvą iškyla daug naujų įdomių gyvenimo faktų, charakterio bruožų, bendravimo ypatumų... Muziejininkai, studijuodami archyvalijas, tarsi iš naujo „dėlioja" ir tyrinėja veiklaus, ilgo - 95-erių metų - gyvenimo kelią. Rankiojami faktai, „klijuojamas“ poeto gyvenimas iš laiškų, fotografijų, dokumentų, užrašų, įvairių rankraščių, spaudos, amžininkų prisiminimų [p. 280].

ENBernardas Brazdžionis was the first head of Maironis Museum; he worked there from 1940 to 1944. Before moving to the West, Maironis' house was the last place which sheltered the Brazdžionis family. Later, when the poet visited Lithuania, he used to visit the museum; therefore, after his death his wife Aldona Brazdžionienė and granddaughter Dalytė Lovett decided that literature and memorial inheritance should be sent to Maironis Museum of Lithuanian Literature. It is the biggest museum compilation; the material reveals new interesting Bernardas Brazdžionis' facts of life and character traits. The article discusses the exhibits that reveal the poet's wit and unexpected Bernardas Brazdžionis' family life in Vista, Los Angeles in 1974-1987. Letters are also analyzed: the rich epistolary compilation heritage could be a source for a comprehensive history of emigrants' culture and literature. Photographs provide huge amounts of information though only a minor part of the photographs has been described. The photograph descriptions are often witty and rhyming. The compilation contains numerous manuscripts - articles, made and unmade speeches, dedications, poems. Some of them are accurately written and legible while others are full of corrections. Bernardas Brazdžionis left many documents: birth and marriage certificates, passports, the certificates of work in Maironis museum and editorial offices.
