ENThe article deals with the modern tendencies in carnival culture in Baltic region. The problem of this paper is the correlation between the tendencies of the cultural globalization and the componential transformation of the masking tradition. The author brings up the aim to look for the differences and the common lineament in the masking activity in Lithuania and in the all Baltic region countries and analyses the credible reasons of the observable cultural transformations.
