ENThe article recounts the life of Jan Emanuel Karp, a Polish nobleman and an inheritor of the Karpowicze, Kalinówka and Lipsk Murowany assets in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, as well as the Narewka estate in Grodno county. Living in the first half of the 18th century, he served as captain of the Grodno county. He died shortly before April 10, 1737 and was buried in the Grodno church. He was a representative of the seventh generation of the Karp family in the Grodno county. As a young man, Karp studied abroad. He was a supporter and elector of the King Stanisław I Leszczyński and enjoyed support from the local nobility, who appointed him judge for the Grodno county. A member of the Electoral Parliament, he also served as a judge for the High Tribunal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
