Žvalgomieji tyrimai Varniuose

LT2002 m. rugsėjo-spalio mėn. atlikti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Varniuose, Dariaus ir Girėno, S. Daukanto ir M. Daukšos gatvėse [p. 232].

ENIn September - October 2002 during the archaeological survey explorations in Varniai, in Dariaus ir Girėno street, S. Daukanto street and M. Daukšos street, 11 test pits were excаvated (the total area of 16.4 m²) and the cultural layer was recorded in the route of 58 m long. The archeologically valuable cultural layer dated to the 17th century was detected only in one of three places - in S. Daukanto street 4. The finds - potsherds, burnt-out clay and fragments of tiles proved that a building was built in this location in the 17th century. In test pit 7, at a depth of 0.8 m a collection of stones was detected, which might had been the cobbles.
