South Baltic Blue Growth Index

ENBlue Growth is the long-term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors. Seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy and have great potential for innovation and growth. It is the maritime contribution to achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. During implementation of South Baltic programme INTERMARE, dedicated to internationalisation of South Baltic maritime economy, by application of author Circular Economy 3.0 methodology was created Blue growth qualitative index concept and their measurement tool. Expert poll enabled to measure Blue growth qualitative index in South Baltic countries: Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden. It demonstrates development of growth qualities transiting Physical, Economic, Ecologic, Sustainable and Smart growth stages. This index will be used for composing SB maritime economy marketing strategy. Created blue growth index and its measurement tool is enough universal and could be easy used for assessment of Blue growth state in other Seas and regions. Worked out recommendations could be useful for EU Blue Growth and maritime development issues towards 2030/2035 year.
