ENThe fairy tales from book Daktaras Krapštukas pragare (Doctor Krapštukas in the Hell) by Julius Kaupas, the originator of urbanistic fairy tales in Lithuanian literature, have been compared with fairy tale Aukso puodas (The Golden Pot) by Hoffmann, German Romantic author. The background of the fairy tales, the relationship between fantasy and reality, as well as the irony, sense of time, symbols and narrators have been collated in this article.
