Summary / Abstract:

ENAn article explores in detail the location of five places directly related to the Kant‘s family in Memel (Klaipeda), localization, historical context issues. Father, uncles, grandparents, great-grandfathers of the classical German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724–1804) lived in this town. Four generations of this family here had inherited real estate. The 5 specific memorial places of the Kant family, identified in the city, allow formation of interconnections and interfaces with similar places in the Klaipeda region (Memelland). If the current authorities of Klaipėda municipality use this clear inspiration to cherish local historical and cultural memory.
