LTEberhardas Vindekė (Eberhard Windecke, Eberhart Windecke), XV a. 4 deš. parašęs „Zigmanto knygą", šiandien laikomas vienu iškiliausių vokiečių istoriografijos atstovų, nes paliko daugiasluoksnį vėlyvųjų Viduramžių istorijos liudijimą. Jo kūrybos tyrinėtojas, pirmasis rankraštinės „Zigmanto knygos" teksto publikuotojas Vilhelmas Altmanas (Wilhelm Altmann), palyginęs veikalą su kitomis kronikomis, pabrėžė, kad reikšmingiausia tai, jog E. Vindekė, parašęs savo gyvenamojo laiko - XV a. pirmos pusės - istoriją, tarsi tapo tikru Naujųjų laikų istoriku. E. Vindekė pats dalyvavo svarbiuose XV a. pirmos pusės Europos politinio gyvenimo įvykiuose arba juos stebėjo. Knygoje yra ir Lietuvai bei iškiliausiems jos politikams skirtų puslapių. ENEberhard Windecke (Eberhart Windecke) who wrote the Book of Sigismund (Buch von Kaiser Sigmund) in the 1430s is today considered one of the most eminent representatives of German historiography as he left behind a multi-layered testimony of the history of the Late Middle Ages. The researcher of his work, the first to have published the manuscript text of the Book of Sigismund, Wilhelm Altmann, comparing the work with other chronicles, highlighted that what was most significant was that when Windecke wrote the history of his period of life - the first half of the 15th century - he became a real historian of the New Ages. Windecke himself participated in important events in European political life from the first half of the 15th century or was witness to them.
