Rethinking Eliade: Archetypal Consciousness and Its Manifestations in Lithuanian Politics

LTStraipsnyje, remiantis fenomenologine perspektyva, siekiama atskleisti, kokios kasdienio gyvenimo patirtys bei socialinio pasaulio interpretacijos lemia politiniu bei pilietiniu požiūriu pasyvią dalies visuomenės laikyseną. Teorinė prieiga remiasi religijotyros ir kultūros teorijos specialisto Mircea Eliade įžvalgomis, išdėstytomis jo knygoje “Amžinojo sugrįžimo mitas”. M.Eliade išplėtotos anti istorinės, archetipinės sąmonės bei amžino sugrįžimo mito kategorijos interpretuojamos šiuolaikinės Lietuvos visuomenės kontekste, jos pasitelkiamos, siekiant paaiškinti populistinių nuostatų įsigalėjimą, politinį bei pilietinį pasyvumą, nusivylimą politika ir valstybe. Straipsnyje siekiama atskleisti, kaip ilgalaikės okupacijos laikotarpiu susiformavę blogos valdžios, blogos valstybės archetipai reiškiasi šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje – pop kultūroje, literatūroje ir politikoje. Šių archetipų dėka, gyvenimo sunkumai interpretuojami, jiems suteikiant prasmę, o nepasitenkinimas valstybe, politinėmis procedūromis, politine valdžia bei jos priimamais sprendimais natūralizuojamas, legitimizuojamas kaip natūralus ir savaime suprantamas. Nors M.Eliade reinterpretuojama, pritaikant ją šiuolaikinės Lietuvos socialinėms ir politinėms realijoms, tačiau straipsnyje taip pat leidžiamasi į polemiką, peržiūrint, revizuojant bei atmetant tam tikrus jos teiginius. Nors pats M.Eliade tvirtino, jog anti istorinė, anti politinė, archetipinė sąmonė yra palaipsniui nykstantis iki modernių, agrarinių bendruomenių reliktas, straipsnyje parodoma, kaip archetipinė sąmonė atgyja ir reiškiasi šiandieninėje pomodernioje kultūroje. ENThe article aims at revealing which daily life experiences and interpretations of the social world determine passive attitude of a part of the society in political and civic terms. The theoretical approach is based on the insights of specialist of science of religion and theory of culture Mircea Eliade, which are set forth in her book “The Myth of the Eternal Return”. Categories of anti-historical, archetypal conscious and of the myth of the eternal return elaborated by M.Eliade are interpreted in the context of the contemporary Lithuanian society and are used in order to explicate establishing of populist attitudes, political and civic passiveness and disappointment with politics and the state. The article attempts to display how the archetypes of the bad power and wrong state, which were formed in the period of the long-lasting occupation, are manifested in the modern society – pop culture, literature and politics. Although M.Eliade is reinterpreted through adaptation to the social and political realia of the contemporary Lithuania, the article also opens a debate, with some of her statements being reviewed, audited and rejected. M.Eliade claimed that anti-historical, anti-political, archetypal conscious is a relict gradually vanishing until modern agrarian communities, the article nevertheless represents that the archetypal conscious is reviving and manifested in the pop-modern culture of today.
