Podborze mityczne. Krajobraz i przeszłość jako elementy narracji

LTMano susidomėjimo teritorija buvo Pabarės kaimas bei gyvenvietės 5 km nuo jo. Pokalbių metu klausinėjau kaimų gyventojus apie jų apylinkių praeitį bei apie artimiausių kraštovaizdžio elementų svarbumą ir reikšmę. 75 pokalbių pagrindu sukauptas pasakojimų korpusas bei surašyti mano pastebėjimai dėl jų pobūdžio ir funkcionavimo pasakotojų bei klausytojų sąmonėje. Būtent tie pastebėjimai, paremti pavyzdžiais iš sukauptos medžiagos ir tos problematikos tyrinėtojų nuomone, sudaro mano tekstą. Pirmas ir svarbiausias iš jų - tai išvada, kad nėra prasmės tyrinėti pasakojimų neatsižvelgiant į jų kontekstą, kuriuo yra to pasakojimo variantai, kiti pasakojimai, pašnekovų požiūriai. Taigi pagrindinis mano analizės metodas buvo - kiekvieno pasakojimo visų man prieinamų variantų palyginimas. Tam panaudojau naracijos sąvoką, kurią suprantu kaip neegzistuojančią jokio konkretaus žmogaus sąmonėje, bet bent iš dalies galimą rekonstruoti bendrą visų vieno pasakojimo variantų versiją. Pabarės pasakojimai, svarstomi savo ir kitų naracijų atžvilgiu bei visuomeniniu kontekstu - kaip pasakotojo ir herojaus tarpusavio santykiai - yra žymiai geriau suprantami. Be pastebimo siužeto galima įžvelgti ir kitas prasmes. Tas naracijas pavadinau turinčiomis mitinį aspektą, nes prasminga jas tyrinėti mitų nagrinėjimui sugalvotais analizės metodais (kaip Kirsten Hastrup arba Rolando Barthcso teorijos). Mitinio naracijų aspekto dėka Pabarės gyventojų sąmonėje išsaugomos pažiūros į jų tapatybę bei vertybes. Mano samprotavimų tikslas - suprasti naracijų (ypač tų, kurie pasakoja apie erdvę) kaip žinių šaltinio ir kaip komunikacijos akto svarbumą ir sudėtingumą.

ENMy area of interest was Podborze (Pabarė) and neighbouring villages. I talked with their inhabitants about the area they live in and the meaning of places and landscapes that surround them. In the course of the conversations I collected a set of stories and made observations concerning the nature of these narratives and the ways they function in the consciousness of those who tell them and who listen to them.It is these observations, supported by examples taken from the gathered material and references to the literature on the subject, that form my paper. Firstly, I point out that studying the stories I heard is futile without taking into consideration their context - other versions of the story, other stories, and opinions of my interlocutors. The most important means of my analysis was thus comparing different versions of the stories. To do so, I made use of the notion of narrative which I take to be the common version of a story. Although it doesn’t exist in the consciousness of any single individual, it can be - at least partially - reconstructed. Viewed through the narratives, the ones they co-form and others, and their social context, like the personal relations between the teller and the central character, the stories told in Podborze come to be more comprehensive. We can also see that apart from their apparent content they often carry an additional load of meaning. While I do not take the narratives to be myths, I termed this aspect of the stories mythical, because in analysing it I found useful some analytical tools developed during and for the purpose of the study of myth (like the theories of Kirsten Hastrup or Roland Barthes).This mythical characteristic of the narratives helps preserve in the consciousness of the inhabitants of Podborze beliefs about their identityand the values they share. To sum up, the aim of my paper is to show the complexity and significance of narratives as sources of knowledge and as communication acts.
