Summary / Abstract:

ENThe aim of this chapter is to identify major global long-term trends in power distribution, advancement in cyber technologies and demographic, migration and ideological trends and their expected consequences for global stability, resulting in changes of threats for Lithuania. As a result, Lithuania will face dilemmas of balancing between traditional security and defence challenges and the emerging ones. The sooner it abandons a purely traditional approach to security and defence, the sooner it will become prepared for future challenges.
