Zur Übersetzung des Romans "Einsetzung eines Königs" von A.Zweig ins litauische

LTStraipsnyje pateikiami vertėjo Ksavero Urbanavičiaus biografiniai duomenys bei nagrinėjamos kalbinės 1955 metais jo išversto A. Zweigo romano Mindaugas II ypatybės. 1955–1956 metais spaudoje pasirodžiusiose recenzijose autoriai daugiausia akcentavo A. Zweigo romano „antiimperialistinę“ ideologiją, o vertimo kokybės beveik neaptarinėjo. Šiame straipsnyje daugiausia dėmesio skiriama sulietuvintiems vietovardžiams bei asmenvardžiams, vertėjo komentarams, paaiškinantiems įvairias realijas, geografines, religines sąvokas. Pastebima, jog prancūziškos citatos dažniausiai verčiamos į lietuvių kalbą, o rusiški žodžiai neverčiami. Vertėjas stengiasi paaiškinti intertekstualias romano vietas, įterpdamas citatų autorių pavardes bei komentuodamas nuorodas į kitus kūrinius. Vykusiai parinkti frazeologizmų vertimo ekvivalentai, santrumpų dešifravimas liudija vertėjo kompetenciją bei siekį palengvinti verčiamo teksto suvokimą skaitytojui. ENIn this article, biographical data of the translator Ksaveras Urbanavičius are revealed and the linguistic particulars of his 1955 translation of A. Zweig’s novel Mindaugas II are studied. In the reviews that appeared in the Soviet press in 1955–1956, the reviewers mostly stressed A. Zweig’s novel’s “anti-imperialist” ideology, and the quality of the translation was not mentioned. This article focuses most attention on the Lithuanianised place names and personal names and the translator’s comments, which explain various background details and geographical and religious concepts. It has been observed that the French quotations are usually translated into Lithuanian, whereas Russian words are not translated. The translator tries to explain intertextual areas in the novel, interpolating the names of the authors of the quotes and commenting on links to other works. The choice of equivalent expressions in the translation is successful, and the translator’s decipherment of the abbreviations used bears witness to his competence and his attempt to facilitate the comprehensibility of the text to the reader. The translator becomes a co-author of the text, a mediator between the original and the Lithuanian reader.
