ENKlaipeda port was developed on the banks of the Dane river. The dunes of Neringa have badly blocked the port and the city from storms from the west. The estuary of the Dane River were quite deep, so maritime vessels of that time were able to moor its shores. It was rather complicated to enter the port because the coastal area of the Baltic Sea had to wobble between the menacing northern and southern shallots, which often changed, and only temporarily flooded or flooded their positions.
