ENAccording to the ethnographical encyclopedia of Belarus, Vileyka costume (stroy) is a traditional folk clothes complex of the historical and ethnographical region of Central Belarus. As an ethnical and cultural complex, Central Belarus contains numerous features and elements that are characteristic of almost all the regions of the country as well as features characteristic of neighbouring nations, such as Lithuanians, Poles, etc. The purpose of this research is to consider the mutual impact of forms of the Lithuanian and Belarusian folk clothes. There was the task to do the reconstruction of a young woman's costume from Vileyka district and analysis of Vileyka and Dzukiya costumes on its basis. As a result, it became evident that in spite of the foreign influence Vileyka costume is a unique clothes complex that carries the distinctive features of a traditional Belarusian culture and national culture of a Belarusian woman who is a mistress of needlework. The research showed that the forgotten forms of clothes and footwear from the ancient times come back into the world of modem fashion.
