ENThe article deals with the tradicional Lithuanian names of the starry sky known from the historiographical sources as well as from those obtained from field researches. Unfortunely, the material is scare. In spite of such situation, the two-level chronologically separate names of constellations are fixed: the oldest layer is connected with Baltic mythology, whereas the other one was imputed by Christianity. In some cases the prototype meaning of the name of the star is suggested. The analysis of the Lithuanian names of constellations Ursa Major and Pleiades is performed.
