ENIn 2019, the Lithuanian Art Museum published an album of works by Vincas Svirskis (1835-1916). the most famous Lithuanian self-taught sculptor, cross-maker and dievdirbys, with introductory articles discussing his life and creation and detailed factual annexes (compiler of the book - Margarita Matulytė). The creative legacy of V. Svirskis includes crosses, shrines, chamber sculptures for churches (index lists 198 works). In the interwar photographs of Adomas Varnas and Balys Buračas, V. Svirskis' works are recorded in their authentic environment: homesteads, cemeteries, near highways, in current photographs - works kept in the collections of Lithuanian museums and private persons. The book’s scientific annexes contain a collection of identified works by V. Svirskis, a topography of his works and a list of preserved works. Careful, large-scale work has been done, numerous sources have been analysed and systematised, and valuable factual and iconographic material of lasting value has been published.
